Rosslyn Chapel
Hopetoun House

If your looking for the Holy Grail according to Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code you have just found it!

Rosslyn Chapel:

Rosslyn chapel is not just a place steeped in history with famous visitors like Oliver Cromwell but the masonry work is some of the finest in Scotland.

The Apprentice Pillar is a piece that would be quite at home in an art gallery. The intricate designs are nothing short of sensational but when you hear the story all about it and fate of the maker is very interesting indeed.
After we have spent an interesting morning at Rosslyn Chapel we will drive to Linlithgow for lunch.

Linlithgow Palace:

After lunch we will have a walk around the exterior of Linlithgow Palace. Linlithgow Palace was the birth place of our youngest Scottish queen, Mary Stewart more affectionately known as Mary Queen Of Scots. There is a statue of her outside the Palace overlooking the Loch.

Linlithgow Palace was also used in Outlander as Wentworth Prison where Jamie Fraser’s renegades storm the palace by knocking the doors down with a herd of Highland Cows.

Hopetoun House:

Hopetoun House is grandure at it’s best and has featured very heavily over recent years in the Starz hit TV series Outlander. I has played The Duke Of Sandringham’s home and also Hells water estate as well as many other locations. Hopetoun House was built for the Lady hope’s son and the original was a Sir William Bruce house a very famous architect of his time and later when the on inherited the wealth he hired William Adam make it bigger an in fact this was the last project Adam completed.
