Glasgow Whisky Distillery Tour

Sample Scotland's most famous export

If whisky is the reason Scotland made your shortlist, this is the day for you. Our private whisky tour from Glasgow takes you to three very different distilleries, Highland tradition, Lowland smoothness, and modern Glasgow craftsmanship, all in one well-paced, dramtastic day. No big groups, no rigid timetable, and no stress: just you, your companions, and a knowledgeable guide bringing Scotland’s whisky story to life as you travel.

We’ll collect you from your chosen location in Glasgow and return you at the end of the day, or, if you’d rather finish properly, we can drop you at one of Glasgow’s excellent whisky bars to keep the evening going.

Our first stop is Glengoyne Distillery, set in beautiful countryside near the Campsie Fells, a classic, picturesque Scottish distillery with a reputation for patience and quality. Glengoyne is known for producing an unpeated, rich and fruity single malt, and the setting alone makes it a fantastic start to the day. You’ll tour the distillery, learn how the whisky is made, and enjoy a guided tasting of their drams.

If you’d like to make this stop extra special, there’s often the option to choose an enhanced experience, such as a whisky and chocolate pairing, featuring chocolates from Iain Burnett, the Highland Chocolatier, a surprisingly perfect match if you enjoy your whisky with a little indulgence.

Glengoyne Distillery: Highland Craftsmanship

Next, we head to Auchentoshan Distillery, one of the best-known names in the Lowlands and famous for its triple distillation, a process that creates a whisky that’s typically lighter, smoother and elegant in character. This visit is a brilliant contrast to the Highland style, and it’s a great chance to learn how production choices shape flavour.

You’ll explore the distillery, hear its history, and enjoy a tasting that highlights the distinctive Lowland profile.

Auchentoshan Distillery: The Lowland Triple-Distilled Style

Our final stop brings us right into the city at Clydeside Distillery, a modern, stylish distillery located in a restored Victorian pumphouse on the River Clyde. It’s a fitting finale, combining Glasgow’s historic whisky and shipping heritage with contemporary distilling.

Here you’ll see how a newer distillery operates, learn how Clydeside is shaping its identity, and finish with a tasting that rounds out the day beautifully.

After a day of great distilleries, great stories, and even better drams, we’ll drop you back at your chosen location in Glasgow. Or, if you’d like your whisky day to turn into a whisky evening, we can finish at a recommended Glasgow whisky bar so you can carry on at a gentler pace, purely for “research”, of course.

Note: Distillery tours and tastings typically require advance booking and are subject to availability. We’ll advise on the best options when planning your date.
